Delinquent anime characters are an interesting bunch. They can either be crude or respectful, but one thing’s for sure: they’re good at fighting. From Worst to Out, here are some of the best action-filled delinquent manga like Wind Breaker to read.

  1. Rookies

Koichi Kawato is a new teacher at the infamous Futakotamagawa High School.

Koichi, who was known as a failure, never expected to be hired again following his beating scandal.

When Koichi received a call from the principal, he accepted the position of rehabilitating delinquent pupils—the same students who incited a brawl during an official baseball game.

Rookies, like Wind Breaker, includes delinquents as their major characters. Koichi is comparable to Hajime Umemiya in that he wants to use his fist on good deeds.

  2. Out

What is life like after juvenile detention? In Out, 17-year-old Iguchi Tatsuya works his butt off in his aunt's restaurant under the watchful eye of a probation officer.

So long as Iguchi behaves for a year, he will not be sent back to juvie again.

Iguchi wants to start over to repay the big favor he owes his aunt, but trouble and danger constantly find him.

Will Iguchi be able to live a peaceful life away from trouble?

  3. Worst

Just like Wind Breaker, Worst has a delinquent character who wants to be the top dog in a notorious all-boys high school, where a lot of fighters engage in brawls daily.

Meet Hana Tsukishima, a country boy known for his bald haircut with a dream of becoming the leader of all his fellow delinquents.

He seems like a good and awkward guy, but Hana Tsukishima has the combat prowess to support his ambitions.

He might look harmless, but his opponents should think again before they mess with him.

Worst is the continuation of the delinquent manga, Crows.

  4. Nine Peaks

All of a sudden, Harumi Mashio died in a traffic accident after saving a child’s life. He was a simple man with an okonomiyaki shop; at least that’s what his son knew all the time.

However, during Harumi’s funeral, a lot of people showed up; most of them looked like delinquents or yakuza members, which surprised Gaku, Harumi’s only son.

That night, Gaku decided to go fishing, just like in the old days. He found fishing boring, but his late father was always a fan of the hobby.

When Gaku fell into the water, a younger Harumi pulled him out.

What’s going on? He traveled back in time to meet his father, who was a hotshot among the delinquents.

  5. Angel Densetsu

Angel Densetsu is one of the most popular delinquent manga and anime series of all time.

It revolves around Seiichirou Kitano, a high school student who has the face of a devil but the heart of an angel.

No matter what good deed Kitano does, everyone is scared of him. He once tried to help a man carry his stuff, but he was rejected because he looked like a scammer.

Kitano wants to make friends and open his heart to people, but it looks like it will take time before his classmates and the rest of society can accept him.

Similar to Wind Breaker, Angel Densetsu explores themes of discrimination, judgment, and self-acceptance.

  6. Crows

Before Worst, there’s Crows. It is a delinquent manga that features Harumichi Bouya as the main character, aiming to make a name in the notorious Suzuran High, whose students are known for all the bad things there are.

On his first day, Bouya beats Kirishima Hiromi, also known as Mad Dog, who makes fun of his blonde hair.

It didn’t end there; Bouya also defeated Hiromi’s underlings, all five of them, without breaking a sweat, much to the surprise of Yasu.

Since that day, Bouya has declared that Yasu will be his first underling in Suzuran. Will he make it to the top?

  7. A-Bout!

While Haruka Sakura strives to become the top dog in Bofurin High in Wind Breaker, Asagiri Shinnosuke is doing his best to become the champion of Mitsumine High School, which is known for having the most delinquent students in the country.

Asagiri is a first-year transfer student who starts making a name for himself by beating the leader of the first-year students and his underlings.

Just like Sakura, Asagiri has the combat skills necessary to make it to the top!

  8. Kyou Kara Ore Wa!!

Kyou kara Ore wa!! revolves around two aspiring delinquents with different personalities and ambitions.

While Itou Shinji wants to protect the weak and earn the respect of his classmates, Takashi Mitsuhashi wants to become Japan’s strongest man, the type that everyone fears.

Despite their differences, Shinji and Mitsuhashi are an unstoppable duo, known for their remarkable combat prowess and wit.

Will they be able to reach their dreams, or will their differences break them apart?
