James Gunn's The Suicide Squad pretty much solidified John Cena's Peacemaker as the DC Extended Universe's next big anti-hero and if you've already seen the R-rated comic book film masterpiece, it's already safe to assume that the director has huge plans for the character who is often described as a "douchy" version of Captain America. When you think about it, both Christopher Smith and Steve Rogers actually have the same values and principles and it's only their methods that differ from one another.

The real question is, which character is far more superior than the other? Of course, fans will have a divided opinion about it but according to the official Twitter handle of the DC character, he's better than Marvel's Star-Spangled Man with a Plan. Taking to the social media platform to join the What If...? craze, the @DCpeacemaker handle stirred the pot by saying that Cap is a "wimp" and that he is at least five times stronger than the super-soldier. I gotta say, I'm pretty pleased with the way James Gunn handled not the only Peacemaker but most (I'm still pissed about the deaths of Rick Flag and Captain Boomerang) of the characters in The Suicide Squad and it just goes to show that the Guardians of the Galaxy director truly knows his way his D-list characters.

It's a little unfortunate that the film wasn't able to live up to its true box office potential but hey, at least we know that the Squad is in the right creative direction. I'm really excited to see what Gunn does next and give credit where credit is due, Warner Bros. made the right call bringing him into the DCEU.

The Suicide Squad is now showing in cinemas. It's also available for streaming on HBO Max.
