A new report claimed that DC Studios already has other actors they are considering for the Hal Jordan role in Lanterns in case Josh Brolin turns down.

Recently, it was reported that the Avengers: Endgame star is currently being offered the role of Hal Jordan in DCU/HBO's upcoming Lanterns series that will focus on two members of the Green Lanterns Corps.

So far, there is no confirmation yet whether Brolin has already agreed to star in the project or he already turned down, but the potential casting has already sparked mixed reactions among fans.

According to insider Jeff Sneider, DC Studios already has other contenders in mind for the role of Hal Jordan in Lanterns in case Brolin declines to star in the series.

He claimed that Oscar winner Matthew McConaughey and Star Wars vet Ewan McGregor are the other choices that DC Studios are considering for Hal Jordan.

Another report also added that Wonder Woman star Chris Pine and Justified star Timothy Olyphant are also on the shortlist for the role.

So far, DC Studios has not confirmed the claims made in the report. They are still mum about Brolin's rumored casting in the project.

This proves that Hal Jordan is indeed going to be portrayed as a veteran Green Lantern Corps member in the series which is why most of the actors that are being considered are in their 40s or 50s.

The actors mentioned above are all talented and could be great for the role. They all have the gravitas to portray a three-dimensional character like Hal Jordan, especially as a veteran.

For now, let's wait and see whether Brolin ends up getting cast in the role or one of the other contenders will end up becoming the DCU's Hal Jordan instead.

There is no release window set yet for Lanterns, but HBO recently gave a series order to the project.
