When Netflix and Marvel canceled Iron Fist, people assumed that the series was finished after the poor reviews from the first season and the moderate reception of the second. Unfortunately, now that a quality Marvel program like Luke Cage was canceled, it's easy to assume that any of Netflix's Marvel shows can be on the chopping board so Daredevil is no exception.
Daredevil showrunner Erik Oleson told Entertainment Weekly that they are "hopeful" for a fourth season, what with Bullseye being introduced and so many storylines that can be explored in the next installment. However, after the recent purging of both Luke Cage and Iron Fist, it seems like no show is safe. Here is hoping that isn't the case and we get more Daredevil, assuming that it remains a quality series.
"I can tell you that I'm very hopeful to go do a Season 4. Therehasnot yet been any kind of an official pick-up, but if there is, I'm very hopeful that I will be a part of it."
As most Netflix fans know, Daredevil was the first Marvel series in the streaming service and paved the way for future installments like Jessica Jones. The second season actually introduced The Punisher to the Netflix-verse, which resulted in the murderous vigilante getting his own show. Considering how influential the show has been for other Marvel titles, it's cancellation would be surprising.
Now that both Iron Fist and Luke Cage are gone, the only Netflix-Marvel shows that remain are Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and The Punisher. Fans are hoping to see Luke and Danny Rand return for a Heroes for Fire show, though we'll probably get a Daughters of the Dragon series before that one comes out.
Fans can now check out the third season of Daredevil on Netflix.
