According to Deadline, Sony Pictures Animation is currently developing a new Spider-Verse animated movie that focuses on fan-favorite character Spider-Punk.

Kaluuya, who voices the character in the Spider-Verse films, is reprising the role and also serves as the writer of the project alongside Ajon Singh.

The plot details are currently under wraps, since it is still in early development. Amy Pascal, Phil Lord, and Chris Miller are expected to serve as producers, just like the main Spider-Verse animated movies.

This is one of the few Spider-Verse spinoffs that are currently in development or being considered at the moment. Characters such as Spider-Gwen, Silk, and Jessica Drew/Spider-Woman are also being considered to get their own movies.

Considering that the project is still in early development, it might take a while before fans hear more news and updates regarding the project, and there is no word yet on whether it is guaranteed to receive a green light.

What to Expect in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse

While we wait for more updates on the Spider-Punk movie, fans are anticipating the release of Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, which is set to arrive in theaters on June 25, 2027.

Following the events of the second film, the upcoming installment follows Miles Morales as he is trapped and on the run in an alternate universe while trying to save his family from the main universe.

The core cast from the previous films are all expected to reprise their roles, including Jharrel Jerome, who is revealed to be voicing the Earth-42 version of Miles G. Morales/Prowler.

The film has been delayed multiple times due to production issues, but it is now expected to finish production on time.
