It hasn't been a decade since Logan was released, and yet we're seeing the reunion of Hugh Jackman's claw-slashing mutant and Dafne Keen's return as X-23 on Deadpool and Wolverine.
As the final trailer for the threequel revealed, X-23's comeback is crucial in setting Logan back to his heroic role, and Dafne Keen couldn't be happier about it.
Dafne Keen's Chemistry with Co-Star "Wasn't Gone" Upon Return
In the year 2029, Laura Kinney aka X-23 witnessed the death of Logan and spoke her eulogy on his grave.
And now, as the final trailer for Deadpool and Wolverine emerged, we see a grown-up Laura walking away from Wolverine, a different variant than the one she traveled with back in the 2017 flick.
"It was really exciting and it was really easy," The Acolyte star said upon coming back on set to reprise the beloved mutant, "I was really freaked out about it."
Keen added that one of the major factors that pushed her to join the threequel was that she returned with co-star Hugh Jackman as though they never left the set in the first place.
"[When] the cameras were rolling, it was like that chemistry that we had all those years ago wasn't gone, and truly felt we had a weekend off and we were back doing the movie," the 19-year-old star shared, "It was crazy."
Laura Plays a Crucial Role in Propelling the Threequel's Wolverine Forward
Remember, the Wolverine we'll be seeing in theaters this July is not the same guy as the one we witnessed in Logan.
This version in the threequel appears to be much more stubborn to convince that he is the hero they need to end the chaos in the Multiverse, as seen how hard the Merc with the Mouth has been working to get Wolverine to flex his claws out again.
Laura had a brief cameo appearance and it's the scene where she was walking away from Logan in the forest. As Wolverine dismissed her, "You got the wrong guy."
Knowing full well how she should respond to Logan's antics, Laura replied, "You were always the wrong guy... until you weren't."
She will likely become the reason the mustard-suited hero stands back up again to fight for what's right.
