As the new season 2 welcomes Interview with the Vampire back to our screens, we encounter an ancient vampire, Daciana, who "burned" herself. Meet the new character and where you may have seen Daciana's actress, Diana Gheorghian.

Meet Diana Gheorghian and Where You've Seen Her Before
Before we get to know more about Diana Gheorghian's Daciana in Interview with the Vampire season 2, the Romanian actress is best known for a couple of notable roles she has played in theaters.
As a graduate of the Academy of Theatrical Arts and Cinematography in 1985, the 63-year-old actress had previously made her on-stage debut in the Odeon in Bucharest.
Since then, Diana has starred in projects like Raliul (1984) as Tăsica Pribeag, The White Lace Dress (1989) as Doina, and Craii de Curtea Veche (1995) as Pena Corcodușa.
Diana also played the role of Producer in the 2009 film, The Happiest Girl in the World, which starred Andreea Bosneag as Delia Cristina Fratila.
The film achieved several accolades as it won at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival, the 2009 Berlin International Film Festival, the Palic Film Festival, and the Sofia International Film Festival.
Quite recently, she was the female lead, Carmen, in the 2023 thriller flick, Dark Ages. And of course, let's not forget brilliantly playing Daciana, the "burning" vampire in Interview with the Vampire season 2.

Daciana Burns Herself in Interview with the Vampire Season 2
Daciana was a brief character to appear in Interview with the Vampire season 2 in its premiere episode. She was the mother of the starving vampire Claudia met and later blinded in a fight.
Upon witnessing her son's disabled state, Daciana kills him, knowing full well he won't be able to hunt on his own anymore.
Although Claudia attempts to convince her to come home to America to heal, Daciana takes her own life through fire.
"When [Claudia] meets Daciana, it is a wake-up call that she can live a happy life in a way and meet others," Claudia actress Delainey Hayles explained, "I think she knows in the back of her head, in a way, it is very hard to be happy."
Interview with the Vampire season 2 highlights Louis and Claudia trying to search for other vampires in Europe.
Not only is it a journey of discovery for Claudia in befriending their kind, but it also helps Louis try to entangle whether his memories with Lestat were real or not.
