Who is Do Da-Hae in The Atypical Family?
The Bok family first encountered Do Da-Hae (played by Chun Woo-Hee) after she saved Bok Gwi-Ju (played by Jang Ki-Yong) from drowning at sea.
The family was trying to figure out how to get their powers back when the depressed Gwi-Ju suddenly jumped off a cliff.
Da-Hae swiftly jumps into the water and pulls Gwi-Ju out. When he regains consciousness, he mentions his deceased wife's name and hugs her.
After seeing this, the matriarch of the family, Bok Man-Heum (played by Ko Du-Shim) believes that Da-Hae is their family's savior.
Man-Heum unexpectedly encounters Da-Hae as the latter works at a spa. She invites her into their home.

Is Da-Hae a Scammer in The Atypical Family?
When the family first meets Da-Hae, she tells them about her past. She had two failed marriages after a cheating husband and an abusive partner. She also reveals that she was an orphan.
All these things seem to make Man-Heum sympathetic to Da-Hae, who has never experienced what having a family is like.
So is Da-Hae a scammer in The Atypical Family? In the first episode, it doesn't seem so. But in the second episode, we learn that she is actually scheming against the Bok family.
Da-Hae is targeting wealthy families and plans to rip them off of their fortunes. This explains her two failed marriages, which she victimized.
The Bok family, however, is her latest target. All she has to do is to get Gwi-Joo to fall in love with her and she'll be able to rip off the Bok family again.
Unfortunately, she doesn't realize that the Bok family actually has superpowers. Hopefully though, the family's powers return before Da-Hae can steal everything from them.
