Created by the author of the shonen series Bleach, Tite Kubo, this series started as a 62 page one-shot in 2018. Later on, in 2020, it was revealed that the one-shot would be turned into a mini-series as a companion to the movie. The mini-series ran for 4 chapters in 2020, and a "second season" was announced after that. They showed the anime as a movie in Japan, but when it hit Crunchyroll in October 2020, it was broken up into three episodes.
