Cowboy Bebop EP Teases Ed's Larger Role, Movie Villain's Arrival in Season 2

There is little doubt that Cowboy Bebop confirmed that Season 2 is coming. After all, the first season concluded with Radical Ed swooping in to tell Spike Spiegel they have a bounty to catch. So it's no surprise that André Nemec is hyping up Ed's larger role in the second season. In addition to that, the showrunner made it clear that we'll be meeting the anime movie's villain soon.

The first season of Cowboy Bebop introduced many of the anime's most memorable villains including Teddy Bomber, Abdul Hakim, and Mad Pierrot Tongpu (simply known as Pierrot LeFou in the live-action series). However, it looks like there will be more major baddies arriving in the future. In the series finale, Ed tells Spike they will be going after the "Butterfly Man" before gleefully repeating "Volaju, Volaju, Volaju!"

Vincent Volaju was the main villain in the Cowboy Bebop movie Knockin' On Heaven's Door. Although Nemec didn't confirm Volaju's arrival straight out, he did assure fans that Ed will once again get the Bebop crew into trouble.

"Ed will get our gang into a lot of trouble as she's known to do, so they just might be up against some terrifying people in Season 2," Nemec said during the special online event Cowboy Bebop: Unlocked.

This is a cool hint considering that John Cho himself had previously teased that the live-action series will take on the anime movie. In a previous interview, Cho showed off his Alba City t-shirt and mug, whic he stated are from the props department.

The Cowboy Bebop movie was set in Alba City and fans have been speculating that the show will adapt the film's premise. With Volaju being referenced in the first season, there is a huge chance we'll see this happening in Season 2.

Cowboy Bebop Season 1 is currently streaming on Netflix.
