Could Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker’s Reshoots Hint At A Classic Rebel Base?

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker might be one of the most highly anticipated films of the year, but Lucasfilm's been keeping a wrap on the film.

Now, as fans continue to wait for the studio to release the first full trailer for the third and final installment in Lucasfilm's sequel trilogy, word on the street says that reshoots for the film have begun and it looks like it might involve a fan-favorite secret Rebel base.

According to a report by Making Star Wars, reshoots for Star Wars: Episode IX are currently taking place in Buckinghamshire, England in a location that is being referred to as a "Resistance jungle base." This was the same set where the Millennium Falcon was spotted in back in 2018, and its likely that we'll get to see Rey (Daisy Ridley), Finn (John Boyega), and Poe (Oscar Isaac) make their way to the set.

The location of this "Resistance jungle base" has yet to be confirmed, however, many speculate that the base could actually be on Yavin IV. According to some fans, in the trailer for The Rise of Skywalker, viewers get to see Rey, Finn, and Poe looking out at pieces of the original Death Star which have tumbled down onto the surface of Yavin IV after Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and the Rebels blew up the weapon back in A New Hope.

However, some also assume that this is the Death Star II. Could this "Resistance Jungle Base" be in an entirely different planet then? We'll have to wait and see.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premieres December 20, 2019.
