Original Fantastic Four stars, Ioan Gruffudd and Michael Chiklis, have expressed interest in reprising their iconic roles in Avengers: Secret Wars.

The plot details regarding the upcoming Avengers installment are currently under wraps. Still, there have been speculations online that the film will likely feature cameo appearances from past Marvel actors, given the multiversal aspect of the story. For years, fans have been clamoring for the Fox Fantastic Four actors to reprise their roles one last time in the MCU.

During their recent appearance on the "Back to the Baxter Building" panel at New York Comic Con (via Variety), Gruffudd and Chiklis were asked whether they are interested in reprising their respective Fantastic Four roles in Avengers: Secret Wars.

Chiklis responded with, "It’s clobberin’ time," to which the crowd greeted with loud cheers.

The two actors also reflected on the bond that they have as a group during the filming of the two Fantastic Four movies that they starred in.

"When you’re immersed in something like that for almost six months, and then you travel the world promoting it, you do become a family. You have a shorthand with one another, and you care and look out for one another," Gruffudd said.

"The blood, sweat and tears that went into making the movies — then you get to see it all up on the big screen, and all the work that was done after the movie was shot — and then to promote it. It was just a wild ride."

So far, Marvel Studios has not made any confirmation that the original Fantastic Four stars will be brought back in the upcoming Avengers movies, although Chris Evans, who also plays Captain America in the MCU, reprised the role of Johnny Storm in Deadpool and Wolverine.

What to Expect in Avengers: Secret Wars

Just like any other upcoming MCU movie, the plot details regarding Avengers: Secret Wars are still under wraps. Production is not likely to begin until next year, as Doomsday wrapped recently.

We can expect Robert Downey Jr. to reprise his role as Doctor Doom, as well as other stars in the MCU or the Fox X-Men franchise. Considering that the "Secret Wars" storyline is known for leaning heavily towards the multiverse, appearances from other Marvel franchises outside the MCU are in play.

For now, fans should wait for more news and updates regarding Avengers: Secret Wars in the coming months.
