Fans of Image Comics were excited when it was announced that a Cowboy Ninja Viking movie featuring Chris Pratt was in production. It was also recently reported that Priyanka Chopra was going to star alongside Pratt, which added to the excitement many already had. Turns out fans are going to have to be patient with this film, as it was recently removed from Universal's release schedule.
Collider reports that the movie will be rescheduled at a later time since its original release was going to come out on June 28, 2019. The decision was made to accommodate production scheduling so the movie hasn't been canceled by any means.
No one has left the project, so Pratt and Chopra are still slated to star in it and Michelle MacLaren will still direct it. The studio just isn't in a rush to get this film out since it has franchise potential. With a title like Cowboy Ninja Viking, who wouldn't want to see this movie?
Cowboy Ninja Viking was a 10-issue comic book series from writer AJ Lieberman and artist Riley Rossmo. The graphic novel revolves around an assassin who manifests the toughest skills of three different personas: a cowboy, a ninja, and a viking. It's currently available in a number of formats and should be in most comic book stores.
