Celebrity Big Brother’s Chris Hughes stated that he and JoJo Siwa are just friends, as rumors of them having a romantic relationship emerged during their time in the house.
Hughes, who was the first of the Big 6 to be evicted during the grand final, clarified what their relationship really is as he exited the house.

Chris Hughes and JoJo Siwa were the subject of much speculation among Celebrity Big Brother UK viewers while they lived in the house.
They were often seen being physically affectionate on camera, and each time they cuddled or supported each other, rumors of their relationship being more than platonic increased.
However, Hughes answered hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best’s question about their real deal, and he revealed he loves her as a friend.
"We're just messing around — we're being kids. JoJo was like a pure rock to me. She was someone I could have fun with," Hughes explained as he made his exit from the Big Brother building.
"Why would I not want to get on with people when I'm in a house?" Hughes, who even gave Siwa a peck on the forehead once, stated. He also added that he wanted to be near a person who makes him feel like he’s “at home,” someone who helps him forget they’re in a reality show.
“It was just a friendship, which is only going to get stronger," the 32-year-old Love Island alum added.
Hughes also compared Siwa to his ex-girlfriend in terms of their hardships during their teenage years. “Seeing how they are both similarly as... in the respect that she's come through a lot and she's just a purely nice person. The similarity is in the personality. How nice they are, how loving they are, and how caring they are.”
Meanwhile, Siwa, who placed 3rd in the show, also had something to say about her and Hughes’s dynamic.
"Christopher, the love that I’ve gained for you in this building is insane. You’re a one-of-a-kind gentleman, somebody who is so easy to love, so easy to laugh with. I really, really believe you are a vital part of my life that I didn’t know I was missing."
Hughes emotionally sent a message to Siwa, "JoJo, my darling, what an absolute sweetheart. I feel like you've been my person, like, just unbelievable, and the way I've got —"
He choked up and continued, "I've gotten emotional — like, you've made my life a million times easier when it's been tough, and you've made my good days even better as well. And I love you for that."

JoJo Siwa proudly declared that she belonged to the LGBTQIA+ community in 2021 and came out publicly as a lesbian. However, her stay in the Celebrity Big Brother house made her reconsider her real sexual identity.
The 21-year-old confessed her feelings to RuPaul’s Drag Race UK star Danny Beard and said, “I’m switching letters! I’ve dropped the L and I’ve gone to the Q, baby! That’s what I love about sexuality.”
Prior to this, Siwa got into an intense argument with Rourke, who made homophobic remarks toward her. Hughes comforted Siwa at the time, while the Dance Moms star’s girlfriend, Kath Ebbs, defended her online.
Ebbs is an Australian content creator who identifies as non-binary and has been dating Siwa since 2024.
However, during the later episodes of the show, as Siwa and Hughes grew closer to each other, Kath became quiet on social media. She was also absent from the audience during the show's finale.
