Avengers: Endgame must have taken a lot of time and a lot of energy to make. Not only is the film large by scale, but it's also incredibly lengthy, spanning more than three hours on the big screen.
Taking to Instagram, Hulk actor Mark Ruffalo shows fans just how exhausting the film can be, sharing a photo of Thor star Chris Hemsworth passed out on the set of the second entry in Joe and Anthony Russo's two-part Avengers movie. Here, we get to see the Asgardian God of Thunder in his fat Thor phase – the result of the Avengers guilt and depression over the failure to defeat Thanos (Josh Brolin) in Avengers: Infinity War.
Hemsworth is by the lake in the photo, so it's very likely that he and the rest of the team were filming scenes for the Avengers mourning the death of Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) who had sacrificed herself up on Vormir so that the team might be able to take possession of the Soul Stone.
It was a painful scene for many fans. Maybe the emotional exhaustion somehow got to Hemsworth. Or he's just exhausted from a tiring day's work on set of Endgame. Either way, we love the actor for putting his all into the role. Thor remains one of the strongest and most well-liked characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
We can't wait to see more of Thor hopefully in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
Avengers: Endgame is currently screening in cinemas.
