Chiwetel Ejiofor recently addressed his potential MCU return as Baron Mordo in future projects as fans are clamoring to see more of the character.
The Oscar-nominated actor made his most recent MCU appearance in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness where he played the Earth-838 variant of Baron Mordo.
However, since then, he has not made more appearances in the franchise and it's clear that there are still stories to tell with the character whether it's the main Earth-616 version or the variant introduced in the sequel.
Chiwetel Ejiofor on MCU Return as Baron Mordo
Ejiofor opened up about his potential MCU return as the original variant of Baron Mordo in a recent interview.
While he didn't share any plans for his character's future, he teased that there is a "beautiful open door" for him to return at some point.
"I think there's a beautiful open door there and just finding the moment to tell those stories where it's genuinely the most exciting part of that story you can tell and focus a light on. I think has the potential to be really remarkable," the actor said.
Ejiofor will make his next Marvel appearance in the non-MCU film Venom: The Last Dance as a different character.
When asked whether his involvement in the upcoming Sony threequel will cause some confusion, he advised fans to just wait and watch the movie.
"I feel the best thing to do there is just watch the film," the Oscar nominee said The important conversations happen once everybody can see the films and then engage. The pre-engagement conversations are not quite as important at this point."
Considering that the post-credits scene with the original Baron Mordo in the first Doctor Strange film has yet to be addressed, there is an avenue for Marvel to bring back Ejiofor in the future.
Fans also know that Mordo has always been a pivotal figure in Doctor Strange's life so there is no reason for Marvel to not continue the character's journey. Hopefully, we will get some clarification soon.
