We've long established how genuinely likable Keanu Reeves truly is and it's hard to find a reason to despise the guy. But in this day and age where "cancel culture" is a thing, the Hollywood icon is unsurprisingly not immune to getting dragged into a number of controversies that sometimes are beyond his control. We reported last January that the star of The Matrix franchise was under fire in China for his involvement in the recently-concluded Tibet House U.S. Benefit concert.
Now, the plot thickens as the Los Angeles Times recently published a report claiming that a number of Chinese streaming websites have removed Reeves' movies from their libraries. According to them, at least 19 movie titles were pulled out from the Tencent Video platform. One of Keanu's most recent flicks Toy Story 4 still remains on Youku and Migu Video but Keanu's name was replaced in the credits by the Chinese actor who voiced Duke Caboom in the Chinese dub of the film.

As it stands, Keanu has yet to air an official statement regarding the Chinese streamers' apparent boycott of his film projects. Of course, China plays a vital role in the film industry because of its box office pull, and with Reeves currently being "canceled" in the country, it will undoubtedly affect the profit of his films. This is also the reason why several studios have been trying to maintain a good relationship with their Chinese audience.
Meanwhile, Keanu Reeves is set to return to the John Wick franchise in John Wick: Chapters 4 & 5.
