It was recently reported that Charli XCX is being eyed for a major role in Gerwig's highly-anticipated Narnia movie.

While there is no official deal that has been set yet at the moment, there have been talks for a while for the Grammy winner to join the project.

If the deal comes to fruition, Charli XCX will be playing the role of Jadis, The White Witch. She would be following in the footsteps of Tilda Swinton, who played the role in the 2005 film.

This will not be the first time that Charli XCX and Gerwig will be working on the same project as the Grammy winner also contributed to the Barbie soundtrack with the song "Speed Drive."

While Charli XCX is mostly known as a music artist with hit songs such as "360" and "Apple," she has been delving into acting recently as she is starring in upcoming independent films such as Gregg Araki's I Want Your Sex and Cathy Yan's The Gallerist. She also co-composed the score for Bottoms.

Gerwig/Netflix's Narnia movie would mark Charli XCX's first foray into a big-budget movie as an actress in a major role.

What to Expect in Greta Gerwig's Narnia Movie

So far, most of the details regarding Gerwig and Netflix's Narnia movie are still under wraps, including which book they will cover in the first installment.

The Oscar-nominated filmmaker reportedly signed on to direct and write two Narnia movies for Netflix.

There are also no actors that are officially confirmed to star in the movie at the moment, as production is set to begin in a few months.

Unlike most Netflix original films, the Narnia movie will be released exclusively in IMAX theaters on Thanksgiving in 2026 before it becomes available on the streamer during the Christmas season.
