Celebrity Marketing Firm Teases Ben Affleck’s Return As Batman

There have been so many stories going on about Ben Affleck's tenure as the DC Extended Universe's Dark Knight. Some days the rumor mill says that the award-winning director and actor plans to hang up his cape and leave the DCEU. Other days the rumor mill says that Affleck plans to stay.

Now, a new post hints at Affleck reprising his role as DC's Batman.

A celebrity marketing firm recently put up a picture of Affleck on Instagram, writing that the company had "a fun afternoon with #academyawardwinner #BenAffleck!"

While it might not seem that much of a post, Agent OCCM also wrote that 2019 would be an exciting year for everyone, putting down various hashtags that include "Batman" and the "Dark Knight."

Check out the post down here:

Of course, while the post isn't an official statement that Affleck will be staying on as DC's Caped Crusader, it definitely hints at the actor reprising his role in the DCEU. After all, Warner Brothers is going to begin work on Matt Reeve's The Batman sometime next year, which fits with the post's whole "2019 is going to be an exciting year" tidbit.

However, Affleck has had a rather complicated history with the DCEU, so fans shouldn't really expect too much from the actor. The Gone Girl director wasn't too happy with the reception of Batman vs. Superman, and the fact that Affleck decided to drop out of directing Warner Brothers' Batman standalone has also been one of the factors that continue to fuel rumors that the actor has plans to leave the DCEU.

But that's not all. Affleck also recently admitted himself into rehab after battling alcohol addiction, and with his personal life in shambles, we can't really tell whether or not the actor is simply keeping up appearances with the agency's post, or whether he's really ready to reprise his role.

Guess we'll just have to cross our fingers and wait for an official confirmation from Affleck himself. Nothing's really certain till then.
