Carrie-Anne Moss revealed recently that she turned down several huge acting offers after starring in The Matrix trilogy to focus on her family life.

The actress made her breakthrough in The Matrix trilogy thanks to her fan-favorite role as Trinity. However, after starring in them, she did not participate in another major franchise for several years and now we finally know why.

In a recent interview, Moss opened up about her career choice after starring in The Matrix trilogy during the early 2000s.

She revealed that she strategically declined some huge acting offers in order to focus on motherhood and spend more time with family. She had no regrets about the decision.

"After The Matrix was such a big deal, I took a big, big break to have children and be with them. I remember being torn, having a little twinge like ‘Gosh, I’m getting offered such great things. That would be such a huge deal.’" Moss shared.

"And I was holding my baby in my arms, and I remember thinking, ‘At the end of my life, will it matter to me that I have another movie on my résumé? Or will it matter to me that I held my baby?’ And I instantly thought, no. It was just a no-brainer. And I’m so glad I did that. I’m so glad I don’t have that regret."

Moss would end up making her franchise return years later in the Marvel series Jessica Jones and recently in the Star Wars series The Acolyte.

She also reprised the role of Trinity a few years ago in the highly-anticipated fourth installment The Matrix Resurrections.

Carrie-Anne Moss' Future Projects

Moss will be seen next in the upcoming second season of the hit Netflix action-comedy series FUBAR which stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and Monica Barbaro.

She will play the role of Greta Nelso, a former East German operative who shares a passionate history with Luke (Schwarzenegger). He’s tasked with stopping her threat to destroy the world — if she doesn’t destroy his life first.

Her casting came after the surprise cancellation of The Acolyte where she had a major role as Jedi Master Indara.

"It’s always disappointing when something doesn’t get picked up. But I’m never really too shocked. This is the kind of business that’s not for everybody – eventually you have to get pretty realistic about it," Moss said of the show's cancellation.
