Cardi B's viral 2023 Las Vegas concert saw her hurl a microphone into the crowd after a fan doused her with water.

This incident led to a lawsuit and the mic being auctioned off, sparking debate about fan conduct and artist reactions at live shows.

What Happened to the Microphone Incident at Cardi B's Viral Video?

One of Cardi B's most viral and watched videos was the microphone incident in Las Vegas in 2023. While the Bodak Yellow rapper was performing on stage at Drai's Beachclub, she asked the fans in the crowd to throw water at her to help her cool down from the heat, encouraging them to "splash" water "in her [p****]."

While most complied, one particular Jane Doe fan threw a whole cup of water at her, and Cardi B responded angrily by throwing the mic.

The incident about the furious rapper was investigated, and according to the results, the person Cardi B hit was allegedly not the same person who threw the drink at her.

Shortly after losing her cool at the fan, Cardi was heard in the video saying, "I don't want to look [like] that ghetto b****." As security escorted the woman out of the venue, Cardi added, "I said splash my p****, not my face, b****."

Needless to say, the hitmaker is not afraid of voicing when she feels wronged. The microphone incident, however, led the Jane Doe fan to file a lawsuit against the I Like It rapper, under the claim that it was Cardi who had asked the audience to throw water at her.

The microphone in question, however, was auctioned off for $99,000 on eBay, which Doe claims "exacerbated [her] emotional distress." As of writing, Cardi has yet to respond to allegations.

Will the Jane Doe Fan Get Justice, or Was Cardi Only Protecting Herself?

Fans can get a little out of hand when they're having too much fun at public events. Apart from Cardi's mic-throwing reaction, other artists such as Bebe Rexha faced a similar situation at their own performance in the same year.

An individual was charged with assault after hitting the singer Bebe with a phone, which caused lacerations above her eye. A fan charged and slapped singer/dancer Ava Max in the middle of her performance, leaving the pop star with a scratched eye.

Meanwhile, country star Kelsea Ballerini was hit in the face with a bracelet while onstage. Someone from the crowd threw a bag of their mother's ashes onstage at Pink in a different venue and event. Lil Nas X was hit with a sex toy during his performance.

However, it is worth mentioning that within that same year, Cardi also lost her cool at her DJ while performing inside a Vegas club. She was filmed aiming her mic throw at the DJ this time, for unknown reasons. Some sources claim the DJ "messed up" her set and "cut off her songs too early."

It remains unclear whether or not the lawsuit will proceed against Cardi on this ground. We'll be sure to keep you updated on this story.
