The internet didn't break when we got our first look at Captain Marvel but it did get shaken up a bit. Maybe it will break when the first trailer comes out and shows all of the Skrulls and Kree in action but we'll have to wait a bit more for that. Still, fans are just happy seeing Brie Larson don the uniform and it will be a treat seeing her kick butt.
What might be a bit surprising is the fact that she was hesitant to play the role at first. You would think that most people would jump on the chance to play a superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe but the Scott Pilgrim actress had some reservations.
During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the actress revealed that she likes being anonymous and diving deep into the characters she plays so a role as publicized as Captain Marvel's might have limited her capabilities as an actress.
Still, once she read the script and realized how human Carol was Larson eventually signed on to the role.
Considering how good she was in movies like Room, it is easy to see that she takes her acting seriously. If the role of Carol Danvers is as complex as she says, this could make her one of the more relatable characters we've seen in the MCU.
Captain Marvel hits theaters on March 8, 2019.
