BTS has taken the international scene by storm since its debut in 2013, and its popularity has continued to spike in recent years.

This year, HYBE's supergroup broke and established more records than they did in the past. As of the press time, BTS already scored 607 nominations – and they won 407 of which.

So far, the group has bagged several accolades this 2021: Billboards Music Awards (4 awards), Bravo Otto (1 silver), The Fact Music Awards (5), Gaffa-Prisen (2), and Gaon Chart Music Awards (6), among others.

The group recently made a historic feat at the American Music Awards 2021 by becoming the first Asian act in history to ever win the Artist of the Year from the award-giving body. They brought home all three awards they were nominated for Favorite Pop Duo or Group, Favorite Pop Song For Butter, and Artist of the Year.

Aside from Billboard Music Awards and American Music Awards, BTS completed its Big Three networks' nominations by joining GRAMMYs' list again. However, fans are only left frustrated over the news.

Fans Question GRAMMYs Over BTS' One Nomination

On Tuesday, the 64th Annual Grammy Awards presented the list of its nominees in each of its 86 categories. The winners will be honored during the upcoming 2022 GRAMMYs Awards Show.

ARMYs instantly felt enraged after discovering that the K-pop group was only nominated for the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category, competing against Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga (I Get A Kick Out of You), Justin Bieber and benny blanco (Lonely), Coldplay (Higher Power), and Doja Cat + SZA (Kiss Me More.)

Fans immediately called out the award-giving body and accused them of using BTS just to get more viewers. They also ended up calling the show Scammys again after it snubbed the K-pop group, as well, earlier this year.

For what it's worth, the K-pop group lost the award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance last time, and Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande grabbed the milestone instead.

Although BTS only has one nomination for the upcoming GRAMMYs, they would make history if they win it by becoming the first K-pop artist to gain the significant awards from US' biggest networks.

GRAMMYs Following New Rules

Amid the fans' rage, the change seemingly came after The Weeknd called the organization corrupt despite having the biggest song in 2020. In response to the singer's statement, Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. pledged to rebuild the trust it lost and increased its membership instead.

This time, the nominees were selected without an anonymous selection committee. Over 11,000 voters chose the artists per category, but only those with full membership were able to join the selection on top awards.

It remains unknown whether this change was the reason behind BTS' lack of nominations. The Recording Academy, on the other hand, is also yet to comment on the issue.
