Ellen DeGeneres recently revealed that she is considering a comeback in the UK, hosting a talk show years after the end of her infamous daytime show.

Last year, the iconic comedian announced that she had retired from show business following the end of her stand-up tour and release of her Netflix special For Your Approval. She has also relocated to the UK countryside with her wife, Portia de Rossi, as a result of Donald Trump's victory in the US presidential election.

During a conversation with English TV and radio presenter Richard Bacon in Cheltenham (via People), DeGeneres shared that she misses her talk show "a lot" and is considering the idea of revisiting it in the UK.

"I want to have fun, I want to do something. I do like my chickens, but I'm a little bit bored," she said.

However, what's holding back DeGeneres is the changing TV landscape, as media consumption has evolved, and most people now watch shows or clips on their devices.

She explained, "I just feel like people are watching on their phones, or people aren't really paying attention as much to televisions, because we're so inundated with information and entertainment."

However, despite the potential hurdles, DeGeneres said that she "would love to do that again" and "would [still] do the same thing [in the UK]" if she ever revisits the idea of her talk show.

She also added that she is currently planning her next step "very carefully."

Why Did Ellen DeGeneres Move to the UK with Wife Portia de Rossi?

In the same conversation, DeGeneres admitted that she and de Rossi decided to move to the UK countryside after Trump won the US presidential election.

While they were looking for a part-time house in the UK late last year, they saw Trump's election victory in the news, which changed their mind to move permanently instead.

"We got here the day before the election and woke up to lots of texts from our friends with crying emojis, and I was like, 'He got in.' And we're like, 'We're staying here,'" she said.

DeGeneres' stay in the UK for the past few months has been "absolutely beautiful" for her and de Rossi as they feel welcomed by the community in the Cotswolds.

"We're just not used to seeing this kind of beauty. The villages and the towns and the architecture - everything you see is charming, and it's just a simpler way of life. It's clean. Everything here is just better - the way animals are treated, people are polite. I just love it here," she said.

"We moved here in November, which was not the ideal time, but I saw snow for the first time in my life. We love it here. Portia flew her horses here, and I have chickens, and we had sheep for about two weeks."
