The Book of Boba Fett star Temuera Morrison recently confirmed that he won't make an appearance in The Mandalorian & Grogu.
Earlier this year, Lucasfilm announced that Din Djarin and Grogu are jumping to the big screen for their next adventure, making it the long-awaited next theatrical release in the Star Wars franchise.
For months, fans have been wondering whether some of the supporting players and guest stars who appeared in the Disney+ series will be part of the big-screen project. Unfortunately, one of them has confirmed their absence.
Temuera Morrison Confirms He's Not Returning in The Mandalorian & Grogu
In his recent panel appearance at Fan Expo Chicago, Morrison was asked whether he would be returning as Boba Fett in The Mandalorian & Grogu.
He confirmed that he won't be making an appearance in the film and he has not heard any call from Lucasfilm about his next project in the franchise.
"I'm still waiting for a phone call to be quite honest. I think we're just put on the shelf for a little bit. Maybe we come off the shelf later," the actor said.
While this might be a disappointing update for many fans, it's not surprising to hear that they have no plans to bring back Boba Fett anytime soon given the polarizing response to The Book of Boba Fett.
Lucasfilm might also rather focus on Din Djarin for his big-screen debut and they don't want to bring other prominent characters to join the adventure. After all, Boba Fett was only a major part of the Disney+ series during the second season.
For now, fans should wait and see for any news on Morrison's potential return to the franchise as his future is still uncertain and there is interest to see more of Boba Fett in the MandoVerse timeline.
The Mandalorian & Grogu is slated for release in theaters on May 22, 2026.
