Yoichi Isagi's pursuit of greatness is far from over, as the episode count and release date of Blue Lock season 2 have finally been confirmed in a new announcement.
In addition, new cast details have been revealed for Blue Lock characters that will officially join the series in the second season.
Latest News: Crunchyroll Set to Stream Blue Lock Season 2
Great news for international Blue Lock fans! Crunchyroll announced at its Anime Expo panel that it will stream the second season of the popular soccer anime when it premieres in October.
Crunchyroll will stream Blue Lock season 2 in various international regions, including North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS.
Blue Lock Season 2 Confirms Release Date
Blue Lock season 2 is confirmed to premiere on October 5, 2024, following an announcement made at the recently held TV Asahi's Anime Lineup's press conference.
While there's no word yet on its international streaming platforms, Blue Lock season 2 will debut on TV Asahi's new programming block, IM Animation, every Saturday at 11:30 PM JST.
Two additional cast members have also been announced, including Eiji Mikami (Tomodachi Game) as Yo Hiori and Kakeru Hatano (Blue Archive the Animation) as Nijiro Nanase.
Blue Lock season 2 was first announced in May 2024 with a surprise illustration by Blue Lock manga artist Yusuke Nomura.
A spin-off anime movie titled Blue Lock: Episode Nagi, which revolves around star player Seishiro Nagi, premiered in April 2024 in Japan. The film was a box-office success, earning over 1 billion JPY (around 6.3 million USD) upon release.
This proves that Blue Lock has been a huge commercial success. It also increased manga sales and interest, which is why it isn't surprising that the second season is arriving soon.
Blue Lock Season 2 Episode Count Announced
Blue Lock season 2 will have a total of 14 episodes, contrary to initial beliefs that it would have 24 episodes, running for two consecutive anime seasons.
Beginning October 5, Blue Lock season 2 will start airing its new episodes in Japan, and most likely, on international streaming platforms, as it did in the past.
Provided there'll be no delays in production or schedule, Blue Lock season 2 is expected to run from October 5, 2024, to January 4, 2025.
The Rivalry Intensifies in Blue Lock S2 with New Players and a New Playing Field
Anime fans can expect to see new faces in Blue Lock season 2, each with their own set of abilities, skills, and weapons that will make the plot more engaging and exciting to watch.
Most likely, Yoichi would reach new heights as he surpasses himself to acclimate to the other players, devouring them regardless of whether they are his foes or allies.
At this point, Yoichi won't possibly need to hold anything back in the training program to succeed and pursue his soccer career.
