The confirmation of the project happened at Sony's CinemaCon presentation on April 13, with Sanford Panitch, president of Sony Pictures Entertainment Motion Picture Group, promising that the adaptation will feature the tone and gore that players came to love when the game was originally released back in 2015.
Bloodborne will be co-financed by Sony Pictures and Lyrical Media, with animation studio Lyrical Animation and Jacksepticeye joining as co-producers.
The new trend in Hollywood is definitely chasing the next video game adaptation that will make the big bucks, and Sony is already playing catch-up with the likes of Super Mario Galaxy or A Minecraft Movie hitting it big. They have a live-action of Helldivers line-up as well as Bloodborne.
