Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are officially confirmed to skip this year's Met Gala event amid the actress' legal drama with It Ends with Us co-star Justin Baldoni.
The couple has been at the center of a controversy for the past few months due to the ongoing legal battle surrounding Lively and Baldoni while Reynolds has also been attached to the lawsuit.
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds to Skip This Year's Met Gala
Reports confirmed that Lively and Reynolds will not be attending this year's highly-anticipated Met Gala event.
However, their ongoing legal battle has nothing to do with the decision as sources cited in the report explained that the couple do not regularly attend the annual event.
"She’s not a Kardashian that goes every year," the source said in the report.
Lively and Reynolds last attended the Met Gala event in 2022 where they also served as co-hosts alongside Regina King and Lin-Manuel Miranda.
So far, the couple has not released an official statement regarding their decision to skip the year's most prestigious fashion event.
The Latest Update on Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni's Legal Battle
Last week, it was reported that Reynolds asked the judge to be dropped from Baldoni's $400 million defamation lawsuit.
In his lawyer's motion to dismiss filing, the Deadpool & Wolverine star slammed Baldoni's outrage over the character Nicepool in the film and "does not even pretend to be tied to any actual legal claims."
"Instead, it falls into the [first amended complaint]'s general allegation of 'hurt feelings,' which in reality is nothing more than a desperate effort to advance the same curated 'bully' image that the Wayfarer Parties created and disseminated in the retaliation campaign they launched against Ms. [Blake] Lively in August of 2024," Reynolds' lawyer claimed in the filing.
Baldoni's lawyer Bryan Freedman has also released a statement in response to Reynolds' motion to dismiss.
"[Reynolds'] fingerprints have been all over this smear campaign against Justin and the Wayfarer team since day one. Mr. Reynolds now attempts to reduce plainly cognizable claims to 'hurt feelings,' sending a clear message that bullying is acceptable," he said.
