At their Hall H panel in San Diego Comic-Con 2026, Kevin Feige brought Ryan Coogler to the stage to confirm he's returning to direct the third installment, which is now scheduled to release on December 15, 2028.
Letitia Wright and Winston Duke are set to reprise their roles as Shuri and M'Baku, respectively. The director also introduced the newest member of the cast, David Jonsson, who will play a grown-up version of T'Challa Jr. Jonsson is known for his role as Andy Carradine in the 2024 film Alien Romulus.
It wasn't disclosed if the movie will feature a time jump or something else that will make this possible, since the last time we saw T'Challa Jr. or T'Challa II was in the post-credits scene of Wakanda Forever, where we see him as what looks to be a 5- or 6-year-old.
The movie will be partially shot on IMAX 70mm, making this the first Marvel Studios movie to have scenes shot on film, as all projects before have been shot digitally.
