Birds of Prey: The Huntress Spotted in Set Photos

DCEU's Birds of Prey is currently undergoing production and we've already seen set photos of both Harley Quinn and Black Canary. Now the latest Bird to appear in the spotlight is Mary Elizabeth Winstead's Huntress.

Check her out:

There are many incarnations of the Huntress character in the comics, but the movie will have Winstead playing Helena Bertinelli. When Bertinelli was first introduced, she was the daughter of a mafia boss, and after her entire family was killed, she vowed revenge.

Like Harley, the Huntress is very closely associated with Batman, but he considers her to be ‘too unpredictable and violent'—a perfect teammate for someone like Harley Quinn. This Huntress doesn't have her classic costume in the comics, but she does come with her mini crossbow as seen in the first look teaser.

After the success of Wonder Woman, DC has decided to embrace more of their superheroine characters by bringing them to the big screen. Besides the all-woman team-up Birds of Prey, it's been said that the studio is also working on movies for Batgirl and Supergirl; kind of odd considering that we still don't have any new solo movies for big guns like Batman and Superman. The studio really took a blow with Justice League, and I guess they're still trying to find the best way to treat the characters moving forward.

After splitting up with the Joker, Harley Quinn joins superheroes Black Canary, Huntress and Renee Montoya to save the life of a little girl from an evil crime lord.

Catch Birds of Prey in theaters Feb. 7, 2020.
