Pop sensation Selena Gomez and her soon-to-be husband, Benny Blanco, recently answered questions in an interview with Interview Magazine.
As shared on the magazine’s official Instagram, the 38-year-old music producer admitted, “Okay, I might not get to shower every day, but when I do, when I feel like I deserve it, I’m in there for so long contemplating life.”
He then added, “I sit down in every shower I take,” which earned a chuckle from his fiancée.
Blanco went on to ask the interviewer, “Have you ever cried in the shower? It’s incredible. Sometimes you just have to have a good cry.”
The Grammy-nominated artist then turned to Gomez with the same question, making her laugh even more.
However, that wasn’t the confession that caught the singer and actress off guard. What Blanco said next prompted her to exclaim, “Woah.”
“I always get death realizations in the shower,” he revealed. In the video, he explained that thoughts about his own mortality tend to cross his mind when he’s in the shower.
While Gomez smiled and covered her face with the Q&A card, Blanco went on, “And then I cry about it a little, it goes away, and I feel great.”
Perhaps realizing the conversation had taken a darker turn, Blanco quickly said, “Next question.”

He explained that they have a strong dynamic, describing Gomez as more of an introvert who can sometimes be an extrovert. He encourages her to get out of the house, while she helps him stay calm when needed.
The songwriter went on to say that he deeply admires her, and the feeling is mutual. “There’s no ego between us. She’s praying for me to win, and I’m praying for her to win.”
“It’s very romantic,” Gomez, who previously dated Justin Bieber, commented.
The 32-year-old Rare Beauty founder then reassured Blanco, telling him he’s stuck with her forever.
The couple made their relationship public in 2023 and got engaged in December 2024. Also mentioned in the interview was Gomez’s upcoming album, I Said I Love You First, produced by Blanco, which features her new song, “Scared of Loving You.”
