Andre Braugher is best known for playing Captain Raymond Holt in the beloved sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Detective Frank Pembleton in the 1992 NBC drama series Homicide: Life on the Street. But did you know he played a role in a DC film, as well? So, who did Andre Braugher voice in Superman/Batman: Apocalypse?

Who is Andre Braugher?

On Monday (December 11), Andre Braugher died at age 61 from a brief illness, his publicist confirmed with The Hollywood Reporter.

Known by many for portraying the deadpan captain in Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Andre Braugher has starred in prominent roles in all-time famous series. This includes House M.D., and even Bojack Horseman.

Throughout his career, Braugher has won two Emmy awards — first in 1998 for Outstanding Lead Actor in Homicide, and for his performance in the 2006 FX miniseries Thief.

Braugher also has two Emmy nominations under his belt for his starring role in Men of a Certain Age, as well as four Emmy noms for Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

In an old Variety interview, Braugher shared the moment when he realized he wanted to become an actor, as opposed to living his life as an engineering major:

"It invited you to delve into, to explore, the whole host of forbidden emotions. And get compensated for it. People stood up and clapped. I began to realize that my fun, my enjoyment, my love life and my emotional freedom were founded in the theater."

A lot of you may not know that he's also done voice work for several projects, including one in the DC Animated Universe. So, here's who he voiced in Superman/Batman: Apocalypse.
