Barry Season 4 is officially a go, as confirmed by HBO. The news comes during the third season of the show, which has so far aired four episodes.
Bill Hader, who both directs and plays in the series as the eponymous character, Barry Berkman, has been nominated for two Emmys for his portrayal of the hitman/aspiring actor. Henry Winkler, Sarah Goldberg, Anthony Carrigan, and D'Arcy Carden are among the Season 3 cast members, in addition to Hader.
Bill Hader to direct all episodes of Barry Season 4
On Thursday, HBO announced that Barry has been renewed for a fourth season, with Hader directing all eight episodes. Barry Season 4 will begin filming in Los Angeles in June. Alec Berg, co-creator and executive producer, will also return.
“Bill, Alec, and the entire cast and crew delivered an exquisite third season of ‘Barry,’ it’s a masterful blend of laughs and suspense,” executive vice president of HBO Programming Amy Gravitt said. “I’m so happy to announce that we are picking up the fourth season.”
Barry fans had to wait patiently for Season 3, which was originally picked up in April 2019. Because of the epidemic, production was substantially delayed, pushing the Season 3 release date to April 2022.
So far, fans have seen a much darker side of Barry, who is determined to leave his violent past behind in order to fully immerse himself in the world of acting. But when Barry becomes further enmeshed in the conflict between the Chechen gang and the Bolivians, in addition to confronting some ghosts from his past, he quickly realizes that getting out is difficult.
The Barry Season 3 finale airs on HBO and HBO Max on June 12. Obviously, it’s too early for HBO to project a release window for Barry Season 4.
