Former US president Barack Obama can't help but gush over his wife, Michelle, in his sweet Mother's Day post. Despite their rumored divorce, Barack's tribute might have people second-guessing the true status of their marriage.

Barack Obama's Mother's Day Tribute Slams Michelle Divorce Rumors

"Happy Mother's Day to all the amazing moms and mother-figures!" the former president wrote on X on May 11, Sunday, while a photo of his wife and kids reside on the post.

Barack even went as far as to tag his own wife and dedicate his post by saying, "@MichelleObama, the girls and I are so lucky to have you in our lives. We love you." You can check out his original post below:

Barack and Michelle's relationship has faced countless rumors, and of the major ones, they were presumed to be facing divorce.

This speculation came after the former First Lady's absence from multiple political events, most prominently in President Jimmy Carter's funeral in January.

Now, considering that Barack's post may not be enough to say that their family's going steady, it's worth noting that Michelle herself debunked those rumors.

Barack and Michelle are Not Throwing in the Towel Anytime Soon

The 61-year-old mom of two previously defended why she did not make her appearance during the current president Donald Trump's ceremony.

"People couldn't believe that I was saying no for any other reason," she explained on the Diary of a CEO podcast earlier this month, "They had to assume that my marriage was falling apart."

And if that explanation wasn't enough for people to get it, she added that that decision was really because of her stand.

"It took everything in my power to not do the thing that was perceived as right, but do the thing that was right for me," she continued, "That was a hard thing for me to do."

In the same podcast episode, she elaborated that her relationship with Barack wouldn't end on such a drastic notice, nor are they planning to "throw in the towel" for a very long time. "That's not who we are. And I know that about him. He knows that about me."

Barack and Michelle got married in October 1992 and would later have their first child, Malia Ann, in July 1998, followed by their second daughter, Sasha (Natasha Marian), in June 2001.

"If I were having problems with my husband, everybody would know about it," the Becoming author previously told the IMO podcast, "I would be problem solving in public, I'm not a martyr."

Meanwhile, Michelle was fascinated with how people reacted whenever she declined to attend any other political event that did not necessarily concern her.

"The interesting thing is that when I say 'no,' for the most part, people are like, 'I get it,'" she said on the Work in Progress podcast with Sophia Bush, "And that's the thing that we are women struggle with—disappointing people."

"So much so that people, they couldn't even fathom that I was making a choice for myself, that they had to assume that my husband and I are divorcing."
