Avengers vs X-Men Movie Reportedly Being Planned By Marvel

Marvel fans might know very little about how Marvel Studios plans to introduce the X-Men, Fantastic Four, Deadpool, and all of the other Fox's mutant characters into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but word says that the studio is planning to create an Avengers vs. X-Men movie.

According to a report by We Got This Covered, there are rumors going around saying that Marvel has major plans for the X-Men. Sources have told the site that the studio plans to create a movie that directly pits the mutants against the Avengers, though it might take a while for the movie to come into fruition.

Of course, Marvel needs to introduce the X-Men into the MCU before it does a versus movie with the mutants. The studio would also need to create a new Avengers team now that Captain America (Chris Evans), Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) are gone – some believe that this new team would be made up of Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), Jane Foster's Thor (Natalie Portman), Shang-Chi (Simu Liu), Spider-Man (Tom Holland), Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Blade (Mahershala Ali). Marvel could also go an entirely different route and take on a younger Avengers team.

Given all these requirements, it seems unlikely that we'll get to see this Avengers vs. X-Men movie until late in Phase 5 or even in Phase 6 of the MCU. Marvel will need to take time to prepare for the introduction of the mutants, and it seems like the studio already has different plans set for Phase 4 of the franchise.

Phase 4 of the MCU begins when Black Widow premieres on May 1, 2020.
