No true MCU diehard could ever forget the very first time the Earth's Mightiest Heroes joined forces on the big screen in 2012's Avengers.
It’s the first huge opportunity for the Marvel Cinematic Universe to prove to the Marvel fandom what they’re truly made of but that being said, it’s not regarded as the best Avengers film.
In this article, we rank all four Avengers movies that have come out from worst to best, ranging from Avengers all the way to Avengers: Endgame, at least for now.

4. Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)
Avengers: Age of Ultron is the second Avengers film from the franchise, and though it was pretty good for a sequel, it had its own ups and downs.
Age of Ultron revolved around Tony Stark and Bruce Banner successfully crafting their long-ongoing project, Ultron, a form of artificial intelligence that’s supposed to be a global peace initiative.
Unfortunately, it only led to more chaos as Ultron gathered his own ‘truth’ on how humanity must be saved, which led him to team up with Wanda and Pietro, whose vendetta against Tony Stark fueled up their mission to join the terrorist attacks.
Don’t get me wrong. It was nice to see the Avengers team chilling and partying together like normal people do, especially that bit where every member had their turn on trying to lift Thor’s hammer, Mjolnir, but plotwise, it leaned more on Wanda and Pietro’s story.
3. Marvel’s The Avengers (2012)
Who could forget the origins of The Avengers franchise with its debut film? The first time Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, Hulk, and Hawkeye got together in their very own movie.
The unlikely team of heroes Nick Fury put together must save the universe against Loki’s plan to take over the Earth and become King.
With the help of the Chitauri Army, Loki uses the Tesseract’s power according to his plan. Unfortunately for him, the director of S.H.I.E.L.D., Fury, deployed his project Avengers just in time to defeat and foil the god of mischief’s plans.
This set the MCU’s plan in motion on who we’re going to anticipate waiting for in the next Marvel movies. This is exactly where the billion-dollar franchise circulated during their biggest theatrical releases.
2. Avengers: Infinity War (2018)
The most mind-blowing thing that every MCU fan had been looking forward to since the MCU started building their universe: Avengers: Infinity War definitely set the bar for the franchise.
Thanos is nearly complete in building his gauntlet along with the six Infinity Stones to decimate the universe in half, and the Avengers are not the only Earth heroes facing this battle alone.
It’s got everything the fans have been waiting for: every single MCU character coming together as one to fight against Thanos, the Avengers losing against their enemies for once, and a cliffhanger for what happens after the Blip.
Not to mention, the strongest hero, Captain Marvel, was the first person and last resort Nick Fury called before he turned into ashes in the post-credit scenes, indicating just how big of a threat Thanos was to the universe.
1. Avengers: Endgame (2019)
You saw this coming. Avengers: Endgame may have had a couple of questionable plot points and directions, but it’s by far, the best in the franchise, considering how this turnout affected the aftermath of the MCU.
With half of the population disappearing into oblivion, it’s up to the original Avengers to take up that responsibility and bring everyone back from the ashes.
The problem was, how exactly? That is until they built a time machine to collect the Infinity Stones from the past and change what happened after Thanos’ snap.
This is what started the MCU’s Multiverse, putting it on the map, and setting the official timeline for every MCU fan to theorize over.
Let’s not forget the fact that this is also one of the few Marvel movies that didn’t have its own post-credit scenes, which made the future even more bleak for fans on what to expect next in the MCU.
Now that the original Avengers are practically gone from the franchise, who’s going to be the next Earth’s Greatest Defenders?
There's no doubt that four Avengers films are not enough to depict Earth's Greatest Defenders, but they did exhibit the team's victories and downfalls that make them stronger the next time we see them on the big screens.
Here's to hoping that the next set of Avengers will live up to the name.
The next batch of Avengers movies are Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars, both of which have yet to set their official release date.
Marvel Phase Five has been dealing with multiple delayed release dates
