Avengers: Endgame Star Says Red Skull is Set for Major MCU Return

The future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe might still be uncertain but one of the stars of Avengers: Endgame already has an idea of what will happen to his own character. Ross Marquand has just revealed that Red Skull could return in the upcoming films and the villain could be out for vengeance.

Marquand recently spoke to Nerds4Life where he confirmed that he has an idea on what could happen to Red Skull after the events in Endgame. The star of The Walking Dead claimed that the villain is now free after the Soul Stone has been taken.

"[Directors Anthony and Joe Russo] said once the Red Skull is released of the Soul Stone, once Thanos gets it and then once Hawkeye gets it, he's essentially free," Marquand said. "But if we think about it, there's all these different multiverses now. So in one multiverse, when Thanos frees him, he's free."

But what could Red Skull possibly do now that he is free? Marquand has an interesting idea.

"I would imagine the first thing he would do if he still has a vendetta, or if any part of him still has ambition, would go back to Earth," he said.

Now that's something that could become a reality. After all, Red Skull still has a grudge against Captain America. Although Steve Rogers has officially retired, there's still another Captain America out there and he could end up being the villain's new target. However, it's important to point out that Red Skull's return has not yet been confirmed so it's best to take this with a grain of salt.

Marquand appears in the tenth season of The Walking Dead, which airs on AMC every Sunday nights.
