Avengers: Endgame Directors Now 'Quietly And Secretly' Working On New Franchise

Marvel fans have been wondering what Joe and Anthony Russo have planned now that the directorial duo has completed their work on Avengers: Endgame. However, while some are hoping that the two return to Marvel Studios for another project, it seems like the Russos are working on another franchise.

The Russos just recently went on Reddit for an Ask Me Anything session with fans, and on the thread, the filmmakers were asked about future franchises. Joe and Anthony Russo couldn't help but tease that they were working on something that would probably surprise their fans.

"We are quietly, and secretly working on one right now..." the Russos responded in the AMA when asked what franchises they'd be interested in working on after Endgame.

Could the two be referring to the Magic the Gathering series that they're producing for Netflix? Could they be working on something for DC? Or maybe they're working a franchise that isn't comic book movie related?

While we're not quite sure whether or not the Russos are going to work on another Marvel project so soon after Endgame, fans are hoping that the directorial duo could work on an adaptation of Marvel's Secret Wars comics.

For those who aren't familiar with the series, the Secret Wars comics is a miniseries wherein Marvel heroes are transported against their will to a planet called "Battleworld" by a cosmic entity called the Beyonder which finds itself fascinated by the presence of superheroes on Earth.

The Beyonder forces the heroes to fight, telling them to slay all their enemies so that they can get everything they dream of. It's an interesting series, though we're not quite sure if it has a place in Phase 4 of the MCU.

Avengers: Endgame is now available on Digital HD.
