While fans have always imagined Captain America (Chris Evans) and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) working hand in hand to undo Thanos' finger-snapping massacre in Avengers 4, rumors circulating online say that two Avengers are only going to be seen together in a flashback in the sequel to Avengers: Infinity War.
According to MCU Cosmic writer Jeremy Conrad, a source of leaks and rumors for many Marvel fans, it's very likely that we're going to see a major time jump in Avengers 4. Instead of picking up from the moment Thanos completes his "snappening," Avengers 4 is expected to feature a future where the dust has settled and life has begun to move on without the other half of its living population.
Because of this time jump, Conrad also suggests that Tony and Steve might not actively reunite in Avengers 4, meeting each other only in a flashback in the upcoming Marvel movie.
"If it happens it'll be a flashback as someone has to explain to Scott Lang what happened while he was stuck in the Quantum Realm," Conrad writes in his post.
When asked by one very confused fan to elaborate why Captain America and Iron Man wouldn't be able to meet each other in present time, the writer explains that it would lessen the impact if directors Joe and Anthony Russo would have the two characters immediately reunite after the "snappening."
Of course, as contentious as it might sound, fans have to remember to take Conrad's postulations with a grain of salt. Nothing is certain until we receive confirmation from Marvel itself.
Avengers 4 hits cinemas May 3, 2019.
