What's next for Avengers: Infinity War directors Joe and Anthony Russo after the duo complete their work on Avengers 4? The Russo brothers might be planning to take a little break from working on comic book movies after they complete their two-part Avengers movie with the release of Avengers 4, but it looks like the two might be teased into returning to Marvel if ever Marvel Studios plans on working on a live-action version of Secret Wars.
Collider held a special screening of Avengers: Infinity War last week (via Pursue News), and after the event, the publication also held a Question and Answer session together with The Russo brothers. Among the many questions that the directors answered during the event, Joe and Anthony also discussed the possibility of working on another Marvel movie after Avengers 4.
"I don't know," Joe Russo said. "I think Kevin [Feige, Marvel Studios President] always has a plan in his head, but he's always ready to throw out the plan and adjust the plan because you never know how the movies are going to turn out. You want to make sure each movie in front of you is a good movie. And if you're thinking about the movie past it, then you're not focusing all of your energy on the movie that's in front of you."
Working on back-to-back film projects must be exhausting, especially when these projects are tentpole comic book movies like Infinity War and Avengers 4. It doesn't come as a surprise to hear that the Russo brothers would want to take a break from the comic book film genre after Avengers 4. Hopefully, the directorial duo gets enough rest so that if and when Marvel decides to work on Secret Wars, they'll be ready.
Avengers 4 hits cinemas May 3, 2019.
