Producer Jon Landau has recently confirmed on Thanksgiving that the Avatar sequel, Avatar: The Way of Water, is finally complete. With the highly anticipated film securing its release in China, it looks like James Cameron’s high hopes for the sequel to break the box office record is underway. Meanwhile, Sam Worthington, who plays Jake Sully, has something to say about the Avatar sequel.

Recently speaking on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Worthington breaks down his emotional reaction on the first look at Avatar 2. The actor reiterates that the visuals are nothing short of praise-worthy, but the film’s focus on telling a story about families is what would really tug on people’s heartstrings. You can also check out the interview below:

“It’s… the first one, it blows it away. I get quite emotional talking about it because what’s Jim’s done, he’s made it about a family. And it’s powerful. Not only is it virtually stunning and you’re seeing a part of Pandora that you’ve never seen before, all underwater, but it’s about what you do to protect your family.”

“And I think after COVID, everybody needs that kind of message. It’s about what you would do for those that you love. It’s amazing.”
