Despite her efforts to ignore online criticism, Rhode founder Hailey Bieber continues to face a barrage of negativity. She recently shared that Ariana Grande, star of Wicked, offered her a new outlook on the situation.
How Hailey Bieber Filtered Online Hate Thanks to Ariana Grande
Despite Hailey's successful life, she, like any other celebrity, still receives criticism from the internet no matter what she does. In a new cover story with Vogue published May 20, Hailey credits Ariana in her 'choosing peace' journey.
For the uninformed, both Wicked fans and haters previously expressed concerns (and criticisms) about how much Ariana lost weight during the filming of the musical. In that December 2024 interview, she teared up as she addressed the overwhelming responses.
The Positions singer emphasized that she had been facing such commentaries ever since she was 16 years old, noting how "dangerous" unsolicited remarks could be. She admittedly feels "really lucky" to have a "support system" amid it all.
"It's not welcome," Ariana simply said when addressing online hate, "I have work to do, I have a life to live, I have friends to love, I have so much love, and it's not invited, so I don't leave space for it anymore."
"It was so true to me when she said that. I am in a space where I just don't accept it. I don't allow it anymore," Hailey explained, highlighting that 'not inviting' those negativities meant the world to her, "We don't have to allow those things into our space if we don't want to."
Hailey Bieber Claps Back Against Divorce Rumors
In the same cover story, Hailey brings up the fact that despite marrying the Baby singer Justin Bieber in 2018, online trolls continue to spread rumors and claims about their marriage status.
"It's not real," Hailey addressed the rumors of allegedly having problems in their marriage, "And here's the thing: I have a real life. My real life is that I get to wake up to my beautiful family and my son and my friends and I have people that know me and love me and I love them."
"You would think after having a child, people would maybe move on, chill out a little bit, but no," Hailey adds, surprised that in their seven years of marriage, people still had negative viewpoints about their life, describing such comments as being such a 'mindf***.'
But ultimately, Hailey didn't care. She brushed them off by saying, "So I guess these b****** are going to be mad."
In fact, her husband, Justin, decided to back her up on that by referencing their previous fight. Justin once declared Hailey could never be on the cover of Vogue. Well, wouldn't you know it?
"Yo, this reminds me when Hailey and I got into a huge fight," Justin's original Instagram caption said, "I told hails that she would never be on the cover of Vogue. Yikes I know, so mean." Only to later edit it to cheering emojis in celebration of her grand achievement.
