Despite the issues and controversies surrounding her personal life, Amber Heard remains unshaken and in fact, she's currently having the run of her career. The actress is currently slated to return for Aquaman 2 alongside Jason Momoa but rumor has it that although Mera will get to make her comeback in the sequel, the actress' future in the DC Extended Universe could still be in peril.

Considering her legal battle with former husband Johnny Depp has yet to see its conclusion, there's still a chance that Amber could lose her spot in the DCEU especially if the court ruling in 2022 doesn't go in favor of her. Still, the actress has reportedly been trying to talk things out with Warner Bros. in hopes of the studio keeping her on board.

Now, a new rumor from tipster Daniel Richtman (via Patreon) suggests that Amber is really adamant about securing her spot in the DC film franchise. In fact, Amber allegedly pitched an idea of starring in her own standalone series on HBO Max which will put Mera in the spotlight but there's no word whether or not Warner Bros. considered greenlighting the project.

To be fair, Amber does an excellent job portraying Mera and Zack Snyder's Justice League even solidified Aquaman's love interest as a formidable character but it can't be denied that her personal issues could play a major factor in her ultimately losing her upcoming projects especially in the DCEU. And with WB executives currently in hot water over several issues of their own, it's safe to assume that they wouldn't want to see themselves involved in yet another scandal.
