Aquaman: An HD Look at Atlantis Above the Water

The DCEU went on hiatus after the bomb that was Justice League, and now WB is building up to a comeback with December's release of Aquaman starring Jason Momoa. We got a good look of the films thanks to the trailer, but now we have an HD image of ancient Atlantis.

Check it out:

Though the Atlantis we've seen in the DCEU is underwater, it looks like the city wasn't always that way. It appears we're going to get some sort of flashback that will show the origins of the city when it was still above the water. By the time we get to the present timeline, of course, it's going to be under the sea, but it's the events leading to it that would be the main hook.

The farthest we got into the Atlantean history with the DCEU is that they participated in the ancient war against Steppenwolf. However, it looks like the history of the fall of Atlantis will have a completely different story.

What I'm curious about is, if they participated in the war with the gods, did Neptune have anything to do with the sinking of Atlantis? Will he appear in this film at all or be mentioned?

Justice League was such a huge blow for DC that they had to halt a lot of projects just to set the course right. Now with new producer Walter Hamada at the helm, hopefully it's smooth sailing for DC from this point forward.

Catch Aquaman in theaters Dec. 21.
