Andrew Garfield recently addressed his rumored return as the web-slinger in the highly-anticipated Spider-Man 4.

Marvel Studios and Sony are still working on the fourth movie that will continue the adventure of Tom Holland's Spider-Man in the MCU following the events of No Way Home. There is still no director confirmed for the project.

There have been rumors that the next installment will have multiversal elements and Holland reunite with Garfield and Tobey Maguire once again for another web-slinging adventure.

In a recent interview, Garfield was asked about his rumored return as Spider-Man/Peter Parker in the long-gestated Spider-Man 4.

Unfortunately, he denied his potential involvement in the film and warned fans to be careful of the news that they're seeing around the web.

"I mean, like the internet is a big place. I think there’s a lot of people who will just say anything to get clicks. So you might have been duped, I’m afraid," the actor said.

For now, it looks like fans won't be expecting an appearance from Garfield in the upcoming film unless the actor denies his involvement once again similar to what he did before the release of No Way Home.

Considering that the project is still in the development stage, the details regarding the film are still early at this point and perhaps Marvel and Sony have not decided if they want to bring back Maguire and Garfield again.

After all, it is still unknown whether the film will be set after Avengers: Doomsday so there is uncertainty on whether it will have multiversal aspects or it will go back to basics with a grounded story.

Fans should wait for more details regarding the project in the coming months as the development is still ongoing and they have not even hired a director yet who will take over from Jon Watts.
