People may be waiting for Florence Pugh to kick ass in Thunderbolts*, but in the meantime, she’s teaming up with former Spider-Man Andrew Garfield for a heartfelt drama called We Live in Time.

The movie just had its premiere in the UK, and while both stars were expected to appear, Andrew Garfield came up on the red carpet with the oddest thing.

Andrew Garfield Appears at the We Live in Time Premiere with a Florence Pugh Cutout

Photos of Andrew Garfield at the UK Premiere of We Live in Time have come out, and he’s been seen walking around with a cutout of the Little Women star.

As it turns out, Pugh was too busy to appear for the premiere, and this was Garfield’s way of getting her to show up—even if it was just a cutout. Here’s a video of them ‘together’:

Though Garfield may have appeared in the premiere by himself, he does have some promotional material going around with himself and Pugh doing interviews and playing all kinds of internet games. Here’s a recent one they did with LADbible TV:

It’s not clear if there are going to be any more interviews published soon, but with the movie just hitting theaters, it’s possible that the whole week is going to be a rollout of just Pugh and Garfield being cutesy together onscreen.

The Chemistry is Undeniable

When it comes to Garfield and Pugh, a lot of fans have been noting how the chemistry between the two is fantastic, which is what producers want for the leads of a dramatic film. Let’s just hope that none of them get the same ‘affair’ allegations that Sydney Sweeney and Glenn Powell got when they were trying to promote the release of Anyone But You.

It’s also funny that Garfield should be paired with Pugh for now, since he did end up dating another Marvel co-star previously who also had blonde hair and was in a Spider-themed movie—Emma Stone.

We Live in Time Reception

Just based on the trailer alone, fans were already expecting We Live in Time to be a tear-jerker, and that’s exactly what the early reactions to the movie have been. Garfield and Pugh have been said to have been given the space to showcase their full range of emotions and charisma, and the chemistry between the two is just electric to watch.

If the movie does have any criticisms though, it’s said that the story is pretty straightforward and it’s not really trying to say anything new or dynamic. Then again, the idea of falling in love and having to face the possibility of losing someone you care about is something that’s become a universal experience for anyone at any point in history.

Fingers are just crossed that they find a way to get Garfield’s Spider-Man interacting with Pugh’s Black Widow in Avengers: Secret Wars because if Marvel Studios is leaning on anything right now, it’s fanservice. Give the We Live in Time fans what they want!

We Live in Time is now showing in select theaters.
