GMA3 co-anchors Amy Robach, and T.J. Holmes were hit by affair allegations last week. They seemingly laughed it off Friday but faced disciplinary actions and were removed from hosting their show this week. Robach is blaming her pal Lara Spencer for their removal, according to a report.
Amy Robach Believes Lara Spencer Pushes Her, T.J. Holmes Removal From GMA?
On Monday, Stephanie Ramos and Gio Benitez stepped in to host GMA3 as Robach and Holmes took "the day off." According to Daily Mail, the original hosts have been removed "indefinitely" following their scandal.
Sources told Us Weekly that Robach is blaming her friend, Lara Spencer after the network decided to remove her and Holmes from GMA3.
The bosses were thrilled and giddy with the ratings on Friday, but now Amy and T.J. are suddenly off the show," an anonymous insider told the outlet. "It's not a delayed reaction — something happened and Amy is blaming Lara."
"ABC made the decision after further details came to light," the source continued, adding that Robach was convinced it was Spencer's fault. There was allegedly a falling out between Robach and Spencer dated back to late 2012 after Robin Roberts took a break from GMA while recovering from a bone marrow transplant.
"Lara was livid that Amy was seen by bosses as Robin's heir-apparent," the insider alleged. "It was clear that Amy would be the one to step in. Lara wanted the gig and hasn't ever forgotten it."
However, another source defended Spencer, who is close to Robach.
"People have their own idea of what's going on behind-the-scenes. Lara is supporting Amy," the second source said.
