Fans may have noticed that Kanye West has a penchant for being with some of the most beautiful and sexiest women, including his exes Kim Kardashian and Julia Fox, as well as his current partner, Bianca Censori. Now, his former girlfriend, Amber Rose, has revealed that the music mogul, who now goes by the name Ye, loves to dress his partners in provocative clothing.
In an interview on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast, Amber claimed that Kanye deliberately styles his romantic partners in hyper-sexualized and revealing outfits to attract male attention, which she believes feeds his ego.
Thus, it has nothing to do with fashion or artistic expression, as many people believe.
Kanye West’s Controlling Influence
Rose, who dated Kanye from 2008 to 2010, recalled her discomfort with the rapper’s bold fashion choices for her during their relationship.
Back then, the now-47-year-old record producer insisted on dressing her in ways she found demeaning. This even resulted in arguments.
In fact, there was even a time when she couldn’t help but cry when he wanted her to wear a see-through dress in Europe.
“I remember crying and arguing with him and being like, I don't wanna wear this f***ing sh*t. I don't wanna wear it,” she recounted.
“‘You don't understand! This fashion, ta ta ta, I'm a genius,’” she remembered him saying.
Despite her cries, she still ended up wearing the revealing dress and as she claimed, everyone “ate me up on the internet.
So, to rebel against Kanye, Amber would sometimes wear his baggy clothes when he wasn’t around.
“Now if you look at old pictures of me when I'm dating Kanye but [I was] out by myself? I have all his clothes on,” she continued. “I have baggy jeans on, t-shirt, big ass jacket. I raided his closet.”
She would also wear all his stuff when he wasn’t home, showing her distaste for dressing like a “whore.”

Bianca is often the talk of the town for her provocative outfits, making waves and grabbing headlines.
In fact, her recent appearance at the 2025 Grammy Awards turned heads when she wore a risqué sheer dress that left everyone stunned.
Amid these suggestive ensembles, Amber strongly believes that Kanye is the one orchestrating them all.
“Kanye is for sure dressing her like that,” she revealed. “He did the same thing to me and Kim [Kardashian].”
So, why does Kanye like his girls to dress provocatively?
“He wants all his friends to wanna f*ck his girlfriend,” she explained. “He wants everybody that—when you walk in a room that his girlfriend or wife is the most desirable in the room.”
A Pattern of Influence
Before Amber made revelations about Kanye’s influence on his girls’ outfits, Kim previously talked about how her ex-husband transformed her style after they started dating in 2012.
In an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians in 2018, the reality star said she thought she had “really good style” until she met Ye and told her she had “the worst style.”
From there, he became her de facto stylist, helping her transform that elevated her profile within the fashion world. In fact, she even earned accolades from industry leaders like Anna Wintour and even a "Fashion Icon" award at the People’s Choice Awards.
Alternatively, Julia, who dated Kanye in 2022, claimed to have a similar experience in her memoir Down the Drain.
Kanye would usually pre-approve her outfits or even arrange for stylists to intervene if he disliked her clothing.
At one point, there were even racks of clothes waiting for her so that she could change her clothes according to his liking at a restaurant bathroom.
Visibly, Julia didn’t like it, describing the experience as dehumanizing and likening herself to a “show monkey.”
These revelations just show Kanye’s controlling behavior over his partners. While some see his styling choices as part of his artistic genius, there seems to be more happening behind the scenes.
