Amber Heard had reportedly found refuge in a small Spanish island after she lost the defamation battle with her ex-husband Johnny Depp. She reportedly went under the radar by taking a new identity.
Amber Heard's Neighbors Reacted To Her Stay In The Spanish Island
The London Fields actress is currently residing in Costix, a small municipality on Majorca, one of the Balearic Islands, Spain. There are reportedly 1,300 habitants on the island, Marca reported.
Amber Heard reportedly rents a house on the island. She travelled there with her partner, film photographer Bianca Butti.
Some of her neighbors spoke with El Pais (via Marca), and they admitted that they didn't know her. They even thought she was a native.
"I've had her next to me a couple of times, but I didn't know who she was until I was told," a young resident told El Pais. "She's very normal on the street and doesn't hide at any time."
"She walks with her daughter and goes to the park," another neighbor said of Heard. "She leads a very normal village life, as if she were a native."
Amber Heard Reportedly Uses New Identity In Costix
Heard allegedly keeps a low profile by adopting a new name. She uses an alias name Martha Jane Canary or commonly referred to as "Calamity Jane."
Mary Jane Canary is a real person from the wild west era between the mid-1800s to early 1900s. She made a name for being a sharpshooter and killer of Native Americans.
Amber Heard Is Still In Aquaman
Heard was ordered to pay Johnny Depp 10 million dollars following his major victory in their six-week trial in Virginia. However, her lawyer said she couldn't pay him because she didn't have that much money.
To make the matter worse, Hollywood has turned its back on her. Her role in the Aquaman sequel is uncertain following the intense backlash from fans who sided with Depp.
Heard said during the trial that she fought with Warner Bros. to keep her role because they didn't want to include her due to her high-profile legal battle with the Pirates of the Caribbean star.
There are various rumors about her character, with some saying her role had been reduced to just a couple of minutes and others claiming she won't be returning.
Heard admitted during the trial that a lot of scenes from the original script were removed, but she wasn't cut from the sequel.
"Amber has not been completely cut from the film," an insider told Just Jared. "[But] she still has a small role."
