Meet Alyla Browne, the Actress Who Plays Young Furiosa in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga
A dual citizen of Australia and Estonia, Browne was born in Sydney and moved to Los Angeles with her family at six weeks old.
Her father established the world’s largest plastic bottle recycling plant in Los Angeles.
While she was too young to participate in acting classes at the Beverly Hills Playhouse, she watched her sisters and developed a keen interest in acting.
Upon returning to Australia, Browne began her career in television commercials.
Since then, she has made a significant impact in both film and television. Browne plays the young version of the titular character in George Miller's Furiosa, the latest installment of the Mad Max series. She also stars as Alice in The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart alongside Sigourney Weaver and portrays Nicole Kidman's daughter in Nine Perfect Strangers.
Speaking about playing young Furiosa and juggling the life of a teenager and actor, Browne told Variety that it is “absolutely insane.”
She noted that she is a fan of the world set around Mad Max.
“I actually love things that are post-apocalyptic, and I’m in one of the biggest, coolest post-apocalyptic films in the world … which is incredible,” Browne said.
Despite the R-rating of Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, Browne managed to watch not only Furiosa but admitted that she enjoyed watching its predecessor, Fury Road.
“I’m in it, so I’m allowed!” Browne noted.
